A raw egg soaking in vinegar

Place one raw egg in a cup of vinegar and soak the egg for about 2-3 days, or until the hard shell has dissolved. The egg will have a delicate membrane surronding the yoke. This egg membrane will behave much like a cellular membrane. Measure the size of the egg before you place it in vinegar and again each day.

Egg soaking in plain water

Once the egg shell is dissolved, carefully place the egg in a cup of plain water for 1-2 days. The membrane will either allow the water to enter the egg or it will not. Measure the egg each day.
